The Probity Review launches 1 November 2026

On 1 November 2026, The Probity Review opens with its first set of articles. It is a publication about how security work is really done: protecting people, running security operations, and leading through a crisis. This page explains what we are building, and why.

Why we are starting this.

Most security writing sits at one of two ends. At one end are policy papers, written for governments and academics. At the other end are online forums. They are fast and loud, and nobody edits them.

The middle ground is missing. That is where the daily work happens. Running a guard force. Moving a VIP safely. Securing a hotel or a school. Leading the response when something goes wrong.

The people who know this work rarely write about it. When they do, there are few places that publish it with care. The Probity Review is built to be that place.

What we will publish.

Every article belongs to one of five areas.

01

Protective security

VIP and executive protection, safe movement, venues and close protection.

02

Corporate & private security

Guard forces, access control, insider risk and security budgets.

03

Tourism & hospitality security

Hotels, resorts, events and the safety of visitors.

04

Crisis & disaster management

Preparing, responding and recovering when things go wrong.

05

Education security

Keeping schools, colleges and universities safe for students and staff.

Most articles are 800 to 1,500 words. They are practical and edited. They are written to be used, not just read.

Who writes for us.

Our writers have done the work. They include retired military and police officers, civil servants, heads of corporate security, hospitality security managers, and specialists from related fields such as aviation, energy and emergency services.

Every article carries the writer's name and background, so you know who is speaking. Every article is edited before it is published.

Our standards.

Our motto is three words. Each one is a promise.

Practice.

We publish what works in the field. Experience comes first. Theory comes second.

Precedent.

We learn from what has already happened. Real cases. Real patterns. Real lessons.

Probity.

We stay honest and neutral. No vendor promotion. No politics. No details that put a real site at risk.

What happens on 1 November.

  • Our first articles go live, across all five areas.
  • After that, new articles every week.
  • Subscribers receive each new article by email, free.

Want to write for us?

If you work in security and have something useful to share, we would like to hear from you. You do not need to be a writer. We can interview you and draft the article with you.
